Drug Recall Attorney

Hurt By A Dangerous Drug?

There are many dangerous pharmaceutical drugs out on the market today. It seems like every few months the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issues another recall on a medication that led to serious injuries. We depend on medication to improve our health. When we are given a pill or treatment that actually causes more harm than it was meant to prevent, the consequences can be dire. If you took a harmful drug without being warned of the risks, you could be entitled to compensation.

Joining a mass tort lawsuit after you’ve been injured not only provides financial ease for your family; it also helps motivate the drug company to produce better medications in the future. Going to court is also an opportunity to get justice for companies that may have actively hid mistakes in their medications. For example, the dangers of the drug Granuflo became clear to the Fresenius pharmaceutical company that makes the drug.  Instead of alerting authorities to recall the drug, the company chose to stay silent. It is because of deceptive and greedy companies like Fresenius that injured patients need strong plaintiff’s attorneys who will fight for them in court.

What Are Some Examples of Dangerous Drugs?

Here’s a list of harmful medications:

  • Granuflo
  • Actos
  • Pradaxa
  • Accutane
  • Yaz
  • Lexapro (birth defects)

The FDA website is a great resource for checking up on recalls and reporting in any unusual drug reactions. The FDA gives very specific information on how a defective drug might affect you. The FDA will issue one of three classes of recall:

Class I Recall – It is likely that the use of the medication will cause severe health problems or death. Class I Recalls are the most serious and the most important recalls to pay attention to.
Class II Recall – There is a small chance that serious health problems or temporary health problems might result from taking the drug
Class III Recall – There’s no chance that, if used correctly, the drug will cause any previously undisclosed health problems.

Don’t forget to speak with your doctor about any concerns you have about your medication. Research medications before taking them and ask your physician or pharmacist detailed questions about how your prescription drugs should be taken.
